April Fools day is tomorrow. Where did that tradition come from? I’ve heard something to the effect that it goes back to when some Emperor decided to change the first day of the year from April 1st to January 1st, but then again I think I might have learned this by watching The Simpsons so do take this information with a grain of salt.
Spring – what a season indeed. Brought to life in Vivaldi’s Concerto in E Major, so many paintings by Monet, Van Gogh and others, poems by Keats, Frost Blake and Tennyson. What is it about this season that brings out the best in what we have to offer? Could it be nothing more than the relief in our hearts and minds at finally being able to say goodbye to winter? Possibly, but I love spring for a multitude of reasons – watching the tiny buds on the trees turn to leaves, the lawn returning to green and starting to grow, the tulips blooming, the cats spending more and more time outdoors, losing golf balls on the 3rd hole again, barbecuing in the light and in shorts instead of by flashlight in my parka, saying hello to the neighbours over the fence in the backyard, digging in the garden, washing the car with a bucket and hose, having a little colour in my face, sitting on the deck, walking in the country, not having to get up in the dark to shovel snow before work, sleeping with the windows open, fresh, local asparagus, short sleeved shirts, cleaning out the garage, putting away the snow tires, hanging the laundry on the line. Well, you get the picture – if it wasn’t for fall, spring would be my absolute favourite season.
I won’t go into details this month on my tinctures and essential oil products, but be sure to check out Karen’s website at www.mysoulbalance.com or my website at www.oscarsessentials.com to learn more on our exciting product line.
Cheers,
