Chair Yoga at North Dumfries Community Center

Chair yoga is a gentle stretching exercise in which postures are performed while seated and/or standing with the aid of a chair. Chair yoga classes typically target those with physical disabilities or for seniors who find a typical yoga session too challenging. It is also a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice.

Parts of a chair yoga class can be weaved into a regular Hatha yoga class, particularly to assist those with balance issues or anyone who has difficulty getting down to the floor. Karen teaches for all levels of fitness. Karen has been teaching yoga for 28 years.
