Chair yoga is a gentle stretching exercise in which postures are performed while seated and/or standing with the aid of a chair. Chair yoga classes typically target those with physical disabilities or for seniors who find a typical yoga session too challenging. It is also a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice.
Parts of a chair yoga class can be weaved into a regular Hatha yoga class, particularly to assist those with balance issues or anyone who has difficulty getting down to the floor.
